This is a little off the actual subject but I’d like to know how a Mom/Mother-in-law/former Mother-in-law/Grandmother etc. is supposed to work things out with both the Ex Wife and the Wife? My former daughter-in-law and I have always gotten along well and still do. I feel that the divorce was both my son’s and his ex-wife’s fault. When I met my future daughter-in-law I sat and talked to her as I would anyone that I had just met. The next day my son told me that she said that I was rude to her. I brushed it off thinking that he was kidding me. They visited several times and I thought things went OK. I received a letter telling me that everything I was doing was and is WRONG! My husband died three and a half years ago and I haven’t heard from or seen them since. I have a four year old grandson that I haven’t seen since he was less than a year old and a two year old grandson that I’ve never seen. How can fix something when I don’t know what I did? They live two states away and I only see my three older grandchildren when I go to the town where they live – two states away. How does the “grandmother of divorce” know what to do or say?

I’m sending a copy of the book to both my former daughter-in-law and my (sorry) current daughter-in-law.
