Calling all DC-area moms and stepmoms that get along!
Woohoo! The illustrious Washington Post is interested in covering our upcoming book, "No One's the Bitch: A Ten-Step Plan for Mothers and Stepmothers" (Globe Pequot, 2009), due out May 5th. They're looking to interview a mom and stepmom that actually have a fairly cooperative relationship (not perfect, just… workable!).
Do you know of anyone who would be willing to be interviewed?
It'll be pretty painless and will most likely be over the phone, where you don't even have to get out of your pill-covered pajamas and curlers, or stiletto pumps and power suit. Or if you're like me, your slovenly jeans and t-shirt.
You could even have a big, ole gallon of high-butterfat ice cream in front of you for comfort's sake while you're happily blabbing away on the phone, or extra-dark chocolate. But if coffee makes you talk a hundred miles an hour, that might not be such a good thing….
(There's a summary of the book here and you can download the Introduction as a PDF here. The first six pages of the book are now available on Amazon using their "Look inside!" feature here.)
If you DO know someone, please send them our way! Write to marine2marine (at sign) gmail (dot) com. (It's a weird address, because it sounds like Carol and I are basically writing to each other, but trust me, it magically goes to US.)
Thanks in advance!
(And there's new content coming out either tomorrow or Friday – for some reason, I've re-written this particular piece THREE times. It's either absolute gold or total crap.)
Thanks for reading!
