It’s hard to remain calm when you’re faced with threats of court, false accusations, bogus restraining orders and the defended ego of others.
When you find yourself in the alternative universe of someone else’s truth , take a moment and remind yourself of who you are.
The you beneath the constant state of defense, stress, anxiety, anger and frustrations.
The you before you were faced with someone you wish would just go away.
The you who you know and love; who you will protect.
How do you do this?
Think of a word that defines you or fills you with a sense of calm. Then place “I am” before your chosen word. Close your eyes, take some deep breaths and repeat the phrase. “I am…”
My word is “peace.”
I am peace.
I will repeat this phrase over and over until the stress fades away and I am once again myself.
Some other possibilities are: I am loved. I am loving. I am calm. I am strong. I am okay. I am trusted. I trust. I love.
You get the idea…
Find a phrase that resonates with you and use it often to emerge from under the ugly truth of others and back into your own reality.
Where you are okay.
Where you are protected.
Where you are loved.
