The ahhhds are in your favor….

Waterfall_valley Hey everyone! While it's been nice to see new folks signing up for our emailing list, we haven't quite had as many folks sign up as we'd like — maybe because, like us — you're totally and completely weary of having ONE. MORE. THING. arrive in your inbox that feels like a just another must-do in a Land of Must-Do Mudslides.

We do not want to be part of your mudslide!

Here's the deal. If you sign up for our mailing list (little box, left side of the page), it will mostly just be a repeat of the previous day's post, if there was one, and… the occasional announcement. No ads. No foot-long text attempts to make you buy something. No sharing of lists with spammers. Just a way for us to stay in touch with folks and let you know what's up on the site.

Roulette And in terms of the raffle prizes, let's just say… if you sign up for our list, you have a very good chance of winning something! Especially since we're giving away NINE prizes a week to celebrate the official launch of our book earlier this month!

So here's what we're going to do….

Since I'm behind on fancying up the raffle prizes page with pictures and dates and stuff, we're just going to start all over and reset the drawing dates.

Drawings for prizes will be held:

  1. Friday, May 22nd
  2. Friday, May 20th
  3. Friday, June 5th
  4. Friday, June 12th
  5. Friday, June 15th for the little lost bonus prize that doesn't fit in anywhere else: the Texas Fire and Chocolate gift basket from Central Market (spicy, but cool Texas-made stuff and decadent chocolate).

Plastic_spoons Couple random notes….

Dish and Drink!
Don't forget our upcoming meeting this Tuesday the 19th at 7:30 at BookPeople in Austin,Texas. Wine, tea and cookies provided.

Carol and I on the radio!
If you've ever wondered whether Carol is actually a mirage, listen in on our interview
last week with WWL in New Orleans and see for yourself that she does
indeed exist. (Sorry, it's got a lot of commercials, but if you click
on the teeny transcripts box, the interview and news are all marked out
by the minute and you can skip forward to the good stuff!

Assisinate your inner critic!
Good friend Jacquelyn Fletcher's (author of A Career Girl's Guide to Becoming a Stepmom) new book proposal is currently making the rounds with editors, and she would be forever grateful for a few boosts to her site in the form of COMMENTS! Check out S.M.A.C.K. Your Inner Critic (along with co-author Clare Gailey), learn how to rid yourself of that little demon riding around on your shoulder, whispering self-sabotaging malarkey into your ear, all day long — and jot down a quick sentence or two.
